If you would like, you could write your own thoughts on the verse of the day, and include that in your own comments below. Thank you and may you be blessed!! =)
“Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise. Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.”- Proverbs 19:20-21
Listening is certainly something most of us have problems with. We are good at hearing people, or music, or the TV, but do we actually listen to what they are saying. Accepting instruction… again this is something that most of us have difficulty with. We again hear the instruction, but do we actually take it to heart, and listen to it, and do what it says. The Word says, “Do not merely listen to the Word, do what it says” (James 1:22), and “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17)
The last part of the verse says, ‘Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails’. WOW! So true - we make tons of plans, and have different ideas of what do to with our lives, and sometimes forget that God is in control. God’s own will is higher than ours, His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9) God’s plans and purpose for our lives will prevail. Evil and death are not in His plans, sickness & disease are not in His plans. We need to claim the promises that are in the Word, and live the life that He has called us to. So many of us use words of death, and we don’t do it on purpose. Phrases like, “My back is killing me”, or “my head is killing me” is not a phrase to be taken lightly. I am learning more about the power of our tongue. It has the power of death and life, and I choose life. I don’t know about you, but I am going to try really hard to use words of life, words of healing, words of peace, words of love, words of the Father.
In one of our recent Conferences at our church, one of the guest speakers told us that an Ambassador speaks for the King, he doesn’t give his or her own opinion on a matter. He or she speaks the words of the King. That is the way we need to approach life. We need to speak more Words of our King, than words of the doctor, or surgeon or family/friends. Stop taking those words of ‘death’, and start claiming words of ‘life’. God’s purpose will prevail, whether we choose to walk in the promises or not. I would rather live in hope, and peace and health, than to live in fear, war and sickness. There is a war raging for our spirits, and for our minds. We need to take a stand against our enemy. He is under our feet, and that’s where he should stay. Do not give Him the power, do not even let him get his foot in the door of your heart! Give your heart over to Jesus, and let His purposes prevail!
If you do not know Jesus as your personal friend, brother, and Saviour then please do not hesitate any further. Take that step today - - It’s as simple as ABC, & it only takes a moment, to change your life forever. If you so desire, you can re-commit your life to Him as well too ~ it's never too late, while you are alive.
A - - Admit to God you are a sinner, and repent and turn away from your sin
B - - Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and He gave His life for you and me
C- - Confess your faith in Jesus as your Saviour and your Lord forevermore
A simple prayer will change you from the inside out. As I said, there’s a battle raging over this land, and just one touch from the King changes everything. Here’s a clip of a worship song that we love to sing at our church. Hear the song, and listen to the words. Keep them in your heart, and ponder them, and then go and shine out that Light of the World. Oh Land, oh land, oh land hear the Word of the Lord.!
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus I thank you for my friends and ‘new’ family that prayed the ABC Prayer of Faith for the first time, and those that may have re-committed their lives to you. Help us spread your love and Word over our land. Give us the strength and power, and patience to listen to words of instruction, and help us to walk in the truth found in Your Word. Teach us to wait on You, and to desire Your purposes for our lives, rather than our own wills and desires. For You promised in Your Word, that if we delight ourselves in You, You will give us the desires of our hearts. Thank you Lord for fulfilling your promises if we are obedient to Your words. Bless my family and friends, and “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” (Prayer of Jabez - - 1 Chronicles 4:9-11) I ask all these things in the precious name of Your Son Jesus, AMEN.
