DAY #36 - 'A Woman of Faith' Devotional
Verse: "'I will give peace, real peace, to those far and near, and I will heal them,' says the Lord." Isaiah 57:19 NCV
God is a restorer, a healer, a deliverer, a provider, a peace-giver, and whatever we need Him to be. He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipotent and no other worldly god can compare. Others may believe that they can, but in the end HE is the 'I AM'. This verse is for everyone, yet He helps us and does what He says when we choose to do right. If we willfully choose to do what He has told us not to do, and continue in our evil ways - then of course we need to repent and turn from our wickedness before He can truly bless us. But He is there to love, forgive and change our hearts - He is just a step away. When you feel far away from God - it's not Him who moved, it's you. Just one step sends you back into His loving presence. This chapter 57 of Isaiah, verses 1-13a, God is speaking of Israel's idolatry, and is resenting what they have chosen to do. He still loves his people, but not what they are doing. He tells them that they have put other gods before Him, the one true God. If they believe in those gods to help them, then go ahead and cry out to them. In Isaiah 57:13a He says, "When you cry out, Let your collection of idols deliver you. But the wind will carry them all away, a breath will take them." Our idols, or things we place above God in our lives cannot do anything for us in reality. For the moment they seem to please us, and give us a sense of joy. But they cannot restore, heal, deliver, bring true peace or true joy. They can be ground back to dust, and blown away in a simple breath. God will remain forever! God is a jealous God, ("Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God." Exodus 34:14) but not in the sense of the word that we use so frivolousy today. God has created us to worship Him, and to fulfill the plans that He has made -- so when we are choosing something else over Him, He is angered, yet He is saddened to the extent of a broken-heart for His children, to see them choosing the path of evil. HE DESIRES YOU TO LIVE A FULFILLED LIFE! He did all He did for YOU! Right now to us, our 'godly' choices may seem pleasant and fulfilling, yet they lead down the path of unrighteousness to eternal death. GOD WANTS TO EXPERIENCE LIFE WITH YOU FOREVER! When we choose to live our lives in a righteous, holy way, we can still receive the pleasure we desire plus sooooo much more! God wants us to go down the path of righteousness that leads to eternal rest, peace, joy, health, provision, love and sooooo much more. He wants you to live to your MAXIMUM EFFECTIVENESS... The M.E. that He has called you to be.
We've all been a backslider at one time or another, with a simple choice or a more complex choice. Sin is still sin, no matter how small. BUT, if we choose to trust in Him, and even try to live righteously and holy He will indeed bless us. Continuing verse 13, God says, 'But he who puts his trust in Me shall possess the land, And shall inherit My holy mountain.' (Isaiah 57:13b) God sees us, and He knows us -- more deeper than some of us realize I think. Sometimes we think we can hide our sin from others, and even from God. Yet God is everywhere (omnipresent), and knows everything (omniscient) and He is all-powerful (omnipotent) that He knows everything about everyone and watches all that we think, do and say. He knows if you are 'trying'... He knows your hearts motives. He will lead us back into His peace and comfort if we choose to repent and return to Him. That leads us into our verse for today, (NKJV translation) "'Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,' Says the LORD, 'And I will heal him'.” To those who choose Him and His peace, He will grant it. He will heal YOU today! I claim the healing of the Lord to be upon you and your household and family 'far and near' today IF you have chosen to put aside your wicked desires, and to choose life with Him. But before we can start claiming the healing, we need to restore our hearts, as we all have sinned. (Romans 3:23) -- pray along with me, if you are choosing LIFE, 'Father I ask you to forgive me FROM ALL the sins that I have committed against your Will and your Ways in my life (from birth to this point called 'today') (and help us to FORGIVE OTHERS) in thought, word and deed - intentionally and unintentionally so that we may enter Your throne-room boldly and we may receive our blessings that you have promised to us. We receive your healing touch today in the Name of Jesus.'
**If you have never prayed the 'salvation prayer' before or experienced the peace that is spoken of above, then here's your chance today. The only thing you are giving up is things that aren't going to last long anyway -- which if you don't give up, will only make your own life not last as long as it could (which is eternally). --- You've already made the first step known - admit to God that you are a sinner, because after all - all of us are sinners. (Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God") After that you need to believe that God is God, and that Jesus is His Son. He sent His Son to die for us, so that we as sinners didn't need to be condemned to death. (Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, bu the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus.") Then do as we did above, and Confess your sins to Him and ask for forgiveness -- and then confess aloud that JESUS IS LORD. (Romans 10:9-10 "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.") We need to daily ask for forgiveness, because we are human and we will always mess up in some way or another. God is willing and able to forgive us, and welcome YOU into His family. I don't like to write out a prayer to say word for word, as this important step is something that you need to tell God in your own words. Just tell Him what's in your heart - you're a sinner, you want to believe in Him but it may be hard, you want Him to forgive you of what you've done, and you want to choose life with Him through His Son Jesus. It's as simple as that. **
Stop being content in your unbelief -- Don't end up like Eddie! (I found it on the internet somewhere and WOW... eye-opener!)
So don't just read about it, RECEIVE HIS HEALING TOUCH today. He desires to heal you (& your family) in EVERY area of your life. (Physically, Spiritually, Socially, Emotionally, Mentally & Financially). In the words of Anne Graham Lotz, "Jesus Christ is the One by Whom, for Whom, through Whom everything was made. Therefore, he knows what's wrong in your life, and He knows how to fix it." -- JUST ASK HIM TO DO IT!
Walk out in your healing today, don't look to the circumstances or the symptoms and feel discouraged, know that God is doing a GREAT work in YOU inside and out!
BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING!

"His Answer to our Guilt"
DAY #21 - 'A Woman of Faith' Devotional
Verse: "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
What is 'guilt'? According to dictionary.com guilt is defined as;
–noun
1. the fact or state of having committed an offense, crime, violation, or wrong, esp. against moral or penal law; culpability: He admitted his guilt.
2. a feeling of responsibility or remorse for some offense, crime, wrong, etc., whether real or imagined.
3. conduct involving the commission of such crimes, wrongs, etc.: to live a life of guilt.
When we do something wrong, or sin, which we ALL have done we feel guilty sometimes about committing that sin. Guilt can be an intense feeling that tries to rob us of all the benefits of the Father. We think that the Father doesn't love us anymore, or that He is not going to bless us because of our sin. We can get troubled, and worried and even stressed over our guilt. God doesn't want to see us in bondage to our guilt. There is an easy way to lose guilt... forgiveness!
God wants us to be remorseful or sorry for our sin, and to repent of it. If we confess our sins to Him, He will forgive us thoroughly and unconditionally. He puts our sin away from Him and us as far as the east is from the west. ("...as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12 NIV) He wants us to live a fulfilled life, holy and pure as He is holy. We cannot be in the presence of God filled with sin in our lives, we cannot fully participate in the blessings that He has with sin in our lives.
All of us have sinned, and we all fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) and the consequence for sin is death. But thankfully, God has made a way for us through His Son Jesus, so that we may live. Jesus died ONCE AND FOR ALL, so that we may live eternally through Him and His Father. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
As today's verse found in 2 Chronicles 7:14 states, IF and when we humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways (or repent and get rid of guilt), THEN He will hear from heaven, and will forgive our sins (and our guilt), and He will heal us! Praise the Lord! Isn't that good news?
So step out in faith today, speak to the Father, and tell Him of your heart. Are you full of guilt or bitterness, or even depression or anger? Leave them all at the feet of Jesus, and He will take your requests to His Father, who will do what He says He will do! You can count on God... others may let you down, but God's Word is true and will remain forever! <3

"He Persevered and so Must We"
DAY #18 - 'A Woman of Faith' Devotional
Verse: "If you do nothing in a difficult time, your strength is limited." Proverbs 24:10 HCSB
WOW! What an eye-opener... doing nothing limits your strength... I had to read this verse in other translations and in the context of the chapter to really understand this verse. I really like it in the MESSAGE version... whoa! "If you fall to pieces in a crisis, there wasn't much to you in the first place."
NIV: "If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength!"
KJV: "If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small."
NLT: "If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small."
Wow! Jesus Himself persevered under all the trials He had to face for us. He is the perfect example for us to follow. How well do we handle crisis', pressures, times of trouble or adversity? Technically our strength is small anyway, as it is His strength that sustains us. I do not want to be seen as one who 'faltered, fainted, or failed', yet I really don't want to be seen as one who 'did nothing'. I do not want to limit my strength or the Father's strength in me. What about YOU? Have you spent a lot of time 'faltering, fainting or failing'? Well get back up, and pray for added strength and a renewal from the Father! He wants us all to be a part of the impossible. He wants us to showcase His strength, to show Him off to the world. Nothing exciting can be done in our own strength anyway. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)
Sometimes however, we sit back and do nothing, and think God will do it if we just ask. All we need is faith after all. Well I was reading my 'card-making' magazine and in the back in the fun quotes section was a great quote (I used it as my facebook status this AM too) - "Faith can move mountains, but don't be surprised if God hands you a shovel." ~ Author Unknown. This statement is super true. We cannot just sit back and watch God be God and expect BIG miracles in our lives... we sometimes need to dig in and 'get a little dirty'. I still think back to the quote from 'Faith Like Potatoes' too... when I think about miracles and impossibilities. "Condition for a miracle is difficulty; condition for a GREAT miracle is impossibility!" (~Faith Like Potatoes 'Angus Buchan')
The verse above in the MESSAGE translation is still ringing in my ear... "If you fall to pieces in a crisis, there wasn't much to you in the first place." There wasn't much to you in the first place? That's a hard hit... We need to persevere all the more in times of trouble and despair.
According to dictionary.com, the definition of 'PERSEVERANCE' is:
–noun
1. steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
2. Theology . continuance in a state of grace to the end, leading to eternal salvation.
I would have to be led to say that perseverance itself is not a noun, yet is an ACTION verb. The 'steady persistance' sounds pretty active to me. So c'mon, get off your butt and get into action!! Persevere and Pray hard, and DO SOMETHING. Whether you fail the first time you try, or whether you get a great outcome, keep going! Try, try and try again. If you fall, get back up. If you falter, get your balance and keep going. If you faint, allow God to bring you back to your senses and strengthen you to KEEP GOING!
Just like yesterday's message (found here), if you are tired, weary, discouraged, disheartened or if you are one from today's message, that is faltering, fainting or failing... Look to God! Don't have that relationship with God... it's as simple as A,B,C to get on the right track! DO IT TODAY!
1. ADMIT you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God") Tell God that you are not perfect, that you are struggling, that you are a sinner. ('Cause yep, we all are.) You also have to repent of that sin... be sorry for it, and TRY not to do it again. (But when you do, 'cause yep we all are tempted to, just repent again.)
2. BELIEVE in your heart that God is real, and that He sent His Son to die for YOU. (His Son now does live again, as He was raised from the dead by His Father) Sin is only punishable by death... Jesus has come to make a way. (Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.") Don't be afraid to ask God if He is real, He wants you to seek Him from your heart. Allow the Holy Spirit to show you, and guide you into the truth. We all know, but do not truly understand the full meaning of John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life."
3. CONFESS your faith in Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. ("If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved." Romans 10:9-10 NLT) Let God know that you want to change, you want Him to fill the voids or holes in your heart that you tried to fill yourself with things of the world. Some of you have tried drugs, alcohol, sex, work, etc to fill that void in your life... but it can only be filled by LOVE! The Love that the Father has for each one of us.
When God hears you pray this pray with your own words, from your own heart, He is blessed. The angels in Heaven rejoice when a sinner repents. "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent... In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15: 7 & 10) When you pray this prayer, and allow God to move by the power of His Holy Spirit, you will NEVER BE THE SAME! (Let me know if you've prayed this prayer... for the first time or for the 101st time... just send me a comment, I won't post it if you don't want me too. I'd love to pray alongside you. Even if you just write your name. Thanks!)

God's Attentiveness
DAY #10 - (Catch-up) "A Woman of Faith" Devotional
Verse: 2 Chronicles 16:9 HCSB ~"For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are completely His."
Do you feel that God is far away from you, like heaven is a supernatural place far from here? Well you shouldn't... God is in Heaven, yet God is also everywhere. He is 'omnipresent'. God sent His Son Jesus to earth, in the form of a man, to let us know that we were indeed created in his image, and we can function as men & women of God. However, when Jesus died for us on the cross (as death is the only punishment for sin), God raised Him to life, and took Him from the earth to be with Him in Heaven, doing His Work. But... He didn't leave us alone, He brought Holy Spirit to earth to comfort and guide us, to teach us in all the ways of the Father. So when you accept Jesus into your heart, it's like inviting Holy Spirit in to be a part of your life, to guide, comfort, teach, convict, etc. Therefore, God is in fact everywhere (for those skeptics), yet God Himself is everywhere (omnipresent), and is all-knowing (omniscient), and all-powerful (omnipotent), and He can hear every one of us when we pray to Him. He is attentive to YOU today... He is attentive to me, and all the others in the world, all at the same time. He is the KING of 'multi-tasking', as He is listening and working with Jesus and Holy Spirit on answering those prayers. He is also a God of LOVE, and MERCY. He gives us GRACE when we don't deserve it, and MERCY to not give us things we do deserve. NO ONE is TOO BAD to come back to the Father! God loves the WHOLE world... He gave the WHOLE world His Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have ETERNAL life. (John 3:16 -paraphrase) Are YOU a 'whosoever'? I am, and I am very happy that I am.
"Jesus made it very clear to His disciples: they should pray always. And so should we. Genuine, heartfelt prayer changes things and it changes us. When we lift our hearts to our Father in Heaven, we open ourselves to a never-ending source of divine wisdom and infinite love." ('A Woman of Faith' Devotional. Day 10. ©2007 Freeman-Smith, LLC.Nashville , TN. 37202)
So open up your heart, and genuinely speak to the Father today, HE is listening for YOU. Be real, and admit you are a sinner ('cause, yep we all are). "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). The penalty for our sin is death... "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23). Thankfully God gave us a way out... so talk to Him today, and seek Him and His forgiveness, mercy, grace and unconditional love! He wants to love on you today!
Remember, it's always as simple as A-B-C...
ACCEPT, BELIEVE & CONFESS...
Pray a simple prayer today, read my "Salvation Prayer" poem, and talk to God in your own words. No words that I could give you could be more powerful than you using your OWN words to describe your feelings to God.
BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING!
(PS. Let me know if you've prayed this prayer today, I'd love to pray for you.)

ACCEPT, BELIEVE & CONFESS...
Pray a simple prayer today, read my "Salvation Prayer" poem, and talk to God in your own words. No words that I could give you could be more powerful than you using your OWN words to describe your feelings to God.
Salvation Prayer Poem... 'Go For the Gold'
written by M. Hall 2010
Everyone knows "God loves you", how many believe it's true?
You want to have 'eternal life'? Here's what you should do...
ADMIT to God you are a sinner, 'cause all humans are.
REPENT from the sin, and turn away, you gotta' raise the bar.
(Romans 3:23)
The wages of sin, is death for sure, but God has made a way,
He sent his SON so you could live, an ETERNAL life someday.
(Romans 6:23 & John 3:16)
BELIEVE in Him, God and His Son, & Holy Spirit too,
believe that Jesus gave HIS OWN LIFE, all for me & you.
CONFESS your faith in Jesus as your Saviour and your friend
The blessings you will receive & His love will never end.
(Romans 10:9&10)
But one thing you must REMEMBER, the road itself is long
There will be STORMS, & rough spots, but He will make you Strong.
(Philippians 4:13)
So finally one day, hopefully, after you've lived til' old
You can press on and win, your medal made of GOLD!

BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING!
(PS. Let me know if you've prayed this prayer today, I'd love to pray for you.)

The 3 "R's" of Life...
Hey! HAPPY MAY 1st!! The month to celebrate MOM's, or women everywhere. To celebrate this month of MAY, I have decided to go on a 30 (technically 31 days are in May) Day Makeover with "True Woman.com" -- I just found this wonderful site for Christian women, and have already done previous studies on Proverbs 31, and the Women of the Bible, yet I am very excited to see God reveal something *NEW* to me in our relationship through this 'make-over'. I will be doing my blog devotionals here still, as that is a desire of my heart, and a way to help you renew your own relationship with God, yet I will be following along with Nancy Leigh DeMoss and the other "TRUE WOMEN" who are taking, and have already taken this challenge... I hope that YOU will join me! (click the 'Start the Make-Over' link below)

The 3 "R's" of Life
So, I have finished my 'blog' for DAY 1 of the challenge, and while I was reading the message from Nancy, I got the insight into this devotional. During my own thoughts on my 'make-over', I also was inspired, and more info was revealed to me through God and His Holy Spirit.
Keeping it short, sweet and to the point, the 3 "R's" of Life are usually seen as "Readin', (w)Ritin' and (A)Rithmetic", yet I have come to realize that there are 3 more important ones, and if you have those as a high priority in your life, then those 'other 3' will fall into place for you as well.
1. RELATE (RELATIONSHIP)
2. REPENT (REPENTANCE)
3. RENEW (RENEWAL) & REVIVE (REVIVAL)
and two more important ones that fit into those 3 are 'REAL & REVEAL'.
1. FIRST & FOREMOST, we need to have a RELATIONSHIP with God. Some call Him God; Father; Heavenly Father; Abba; Daddy; The guy upstairs, etc... Whatever you call Him (as long as its in reverance), He wants a personal intimate relationship with YOU. (not just your Grandma, or Great Uncle Al) He desires to know and meet intimately with EACH of His creation. This is NOT religion-based. Christianity by name is seen as a world religion, yet a TRUE Christian or Christ-follower is indeed that... someone who follows Christ. Someone who follows the teachings and has a RELATIONSHIP with God, His Son and His Holy Spirit (They are 3-in-1, yet they are also 3 separate and important entities).
2. We must REPENT to have this RELATIONSHIP.
We ALL have sinned, (and will continue to sin unfortunately, as our mind is filled with carnal thoughts), and therefore fall short of the glory of God. (see Romans 3:23) Because of our sin, the penalty that we should receive is death. However, through God's GRACE (getting something we don't deserve) & MERCY (not getting something that we do deserve) we can receive and live fully in our salvation and eternal life with God. (see Romans 6:23)
3. We must RENEW this RELATIONSHIP daily. We need to spend time with Him and enjoy being in His presence. Just sitting in church for an hour isn't the time needed to RENEW your relationship. Church is a time where the body is to be edified and encouraged by a Shepherd and each other. Now don't get me wrong, you are able to RENEW your relationship at the altar, yet to keep the relationship going strong, time needs to be spent alone with God. Our intimate times alone with God is where we RENEW our love and purpose in relationship with Him.
"Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name. Restore us, O LORD God Almighty; make your face shine upon us,
that we may be saved." Psalm 80:18-19
...and We need to REVIVE our hearts and our spirits, as we RENEW our RELATIONSHIP. Revival is not a noun as the dictionary states, it is not always something that happens once or maybe twice in our lifetime in a big ol' tent, 'Revival' is an ACTION. Revive is a verb. To be revived, means that you were once dead, and now made alive again.
"Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? " - Psalm 85:6
"After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence." Hosea 6:2
A 'restoration to life'; a 'restoration to use'; 'an awakening' -- WOW! I like the picture that 'restoration' brings to mind. When you restore old furniture or cars, etc... you help to bring it back to life once again, so that it is useful. You don't change the purpose of the item, but you change the way it can be used. God created us to be something unique and through sin, we are not living up to His expectations. However, through revival & His holy restoration, we can be made once again into what He wants. (I have been reading "The ME I Want To Be" by John Ortberg, and in his book he talks about this as well.) God wants to restore us, and make us 'new'... but we are still the person that God created us to be. In John Ortberg's book, he states, we become a "youier you".
Going back to the definition of 'revival' -- #3 states "a new production of an old play." Holy Spirit revealed to me that when we are in a state of revival, we can and will do more than ever before. The 'old play' or the Biblical & Historical Events (not stories) that are found in God's Word need to be revealed, revived and restored in our lives today. Jesus, Himself stated that we as believers can see greater things. These promises can be found throughout Scripture,
John 1:50 -- "Jesus said, 'You believe[a] because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that.'"
John 5:20 -- "For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these."
John 14:12 -- "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."
To live our life with these 3 "R's", we must also be REAL and allow His Spirit and His Word to REVEAL Himself/Itself in our lives. We cannot wear a mask of falseness, or be phony with those in the world, or with God Himself. Sometimes we think we can fool others, and maybe we actually do, but we can never fool God (although for some reason we think we can). If we live our lives being REAL and authentic people and Christ-followers, then others will have the desire to follow as well. When we allow His Spirit to break us, mold us, and use us to His purposes and His glory, then He will be able to REVEAL new and exciting truths to us. But again, we have to have that REVIVED, RENEWED RELATIONSHIP with the Father.
"For this is what the high and lofty One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: 'I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.'" Isaiah 57:15
Live a life pleasing to the Lord - one from 2 Chronicles 7:14, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING (in someone else's life)!

2. We must REPENT to have this RELATIONSHIP.
According to dictionary.com (Random House), repent is a verb which means;

2.to feel such sorrow for sin or fault as to be disposed to change one's life for the better; be penitent.

1.restoration to life, consciousness, vigor, strength, etc.
2.restoration to use, acceptance, or currency: the revival of old customs.
3.a new production of an old play.
4.a showing of an old motion picture.
5.an awakening, in a church or community, of interest in and care for matters relating to personal religion.
6.an evangelistic service or a series of services for the purpose of effecting a religious awakening: to hold a revival.
7.the act of reviving.
8.the state of being revived.

3.to bring back to a state of health, soundness, or vigor.
4.to put back to a former place, or to a former position, rank, etc.: to restore the king to his throne.
5.to give back; make return or restitution of (anything taken away or lost).
