Awe-full or Awful... I wonder where our wonder went...

This 'study' and blogpost has taken a couple turns from where I began... originally it was going to be a post on the 'Fear of the Lord' as I didn't really have an acceptable answer to give to our Junior Youth group at church about a month ago. We had discussed the fear of the Lord, and they all thought it was to be fearful or afraid, but I was explaining it was a reverent fear, like a holy respect, and that answer was ok for the time, but a couple mentioned they still didn't get it. So I have put it off, but have been reminded by Holy Spirit to 'study' this topic for myself as well. Because I can have a faith to believe it, but I do need to know why I believe it, so that I can reveal it to the next generation as well, so they can then share the truth with others too. Good leaders lead people who lead people... Good teachers teach people who teach people...

However, through the study of 'fear' and 'reverence' came along the words 'wonder' and 'awe' which took me down a whole other path or 'bunny trail'. (and it has taken a bit to finish this blogpost)

Starting out, the definition of 'fear' is; (taking the definitions apparent for this study, not the view of being afraid)
reverential awe, especially toward God:
* a feeling of respect and wonder for something very powerful
* profound reverence and awe especially toward God

We don't actually fear God out of the emotion of 'being afraid' (as in Adam and Eve's example in Genesis 3:10, they hid in 'fear' of God because of their shame. They did honour Him as God, but they were terrified of what was going to happen. They could no longer stand in God's presence because of their sin, and they felt shame. We are to 'fear' Him out of respect and reverence for His character, His holiness, and His love. Perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), which is why we are not 'afraid' if we walk in His love.

We have the 'fear' of eternal separation from Him. We, in our sin, cannot truly enter into His presence, nor can He enter ours fully. (This was another topic of discussion at Jr Youth, so the two answers will tie in nicely together). His presence is with us daily, and Holy Spirit walks with us and guides us in our daily journeys. However, the manifest presence of God (as in the account of Moses at the Burning Bush, or on Mt. Sinai) cannot fully come into glory. We need to understand how much God hates our sin. We need to 'fear' His discipline in the case that He is the 'loving father wanting to discipline us if we walk in disobedience', not the 'scary judge waiting to punish us because He knows we have done wrong'. Too often we do not 'revere' WHO God is. We need to show Him the respect and honour that He deserves. He grants us so much in His grace, that we don't even deserve, yet we even struggle to give him one hour a week.

Here are some verses regarding ''fear of the Lord" and "awe"...
Proverbs 1:7 -"Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline."

Psalm 111:10 - "Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!"

Psalm 34:9 - "Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need."

Proverbs 8:13 - "All who fear the Lord will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech."

Jeremiah 5:22 - "Have you no respect for me? Why don’t you tremble in my presence? I, the Lord, define the ocean’s sandy shoreline as an everlasting boundary that the waters cannot cross. The waves may toss and roar, but they can never pass the boundaries I set."

Psalm 119:38 - "Reassure me of your promise, made to those who fear you."

Proverbs 2:5-6 - "Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lordand you will gain knowledge of God. For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding."

Acts 9:31 - "The church then had peace throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also grew in numbers."

Psalm 128:1 - "How joyful are those who fear the Lord— all who follow his ways!"

Proverbs 14:26-27 - "Those who fear the Lord are secure; he will be a refuge for their children. Fear of the Lord is a life-giving fountain; it offers escape from the snares of death."

Ephesians 5:21 - "And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ."

1 Peter 1:17 - "And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of him during your time here as 'temporary residents'.”

Psalm 118:4 - "Let all who fear the Lord repeat: 'His faithful love endures forever'."

Proverbs 19:23 "Fear of the Lord leads to life, bringing security and protection from harm."

Deuteronomy 10:12; 20-21 - "And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul... (v.12) ...you must fear the Lord your God and worship him and cling to him. Your oaths must be in his name alone. He alone is your God, the only one who is worthy of your praise, the one who has done these mighty miracles that you have seen with your own eyes." (v 20-21)

Deuteronomy 5:29 - "Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear me and obey all my commands! If they did, they and their descendants would prosper forever."

Hebrews 12:28-29 - "Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To fear is to;
  • Respect
  • Obey
  • Submit to Discipline
  • Worship in Awe - reverential awe
To be in Awe is:
A reverential state or condition of the mind and heart that results in a respectful fear or genuine wonder.

Hebrew word (one of them) is 'yare' -- to fear, be afraid, to revere, stand in awe, to have a deep respect/honour

reverence -- to approach cautiously
awe -- to take a step back

Are we AWE-FULL or are we AWFUL? Where did our WONDER go? Have we become too complacent in our walk with God? Do we experience a loss of mystery or a neglect of His divine nature/character? Are we over familiar with God, Jesus and/or Holy Spirit? Do we have Man-centred worship? Are we a part of casual or complacent environments? Have we let our selfish pride step in and seek to glorify ourselves instead of glorifying God in all that we do?

We need to put aside our selfish & fleshly pride and come back to the Father with the awe and wonder of when we first became saved. However, now we have more faith to believe that God will do what He says He will do. Although God's miracle power is still a mystery to us, we can understand more about His divine nature. We need to cast off complacency, and seek His face. He is a God deserving of our worship and praise. He is worthy of our obedience, and above all worthy of us (as a whole), as a creation that was made to praise Him. We can no longer live in a casual environment, knowing that God has it all in His hands, so we just go about our daily lives. We need to be in AWE of the wonderful things that He does for us. (Especially the things unknown to us!)

It has been said that we need to come to the Father with a 'Childlike faith', this is one full of awe and wonder. It is one that cannot be explained, as by science or anything else. We just believe because it is.
Beth Moore in 'To Live is Christ' said "When her daughter was frightened of a thunderstorm, she pointed out the verse which declares the Heavens reveal the glory of God. When another storm occurred, her daughter ran to the window, 'Mommy, God's really showing off today'!" Once the truth was revealed to her by her mother, the little girl was no longer 'afraid', but was now in 'awe' of what God was doing. We need to allow God to reveal His truth to us, so that we can be in 'awe' of what He has done, and will continue to do.

The first time the church was 'in awe' is found in Acts 2:42-27; "All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved."

The 'church' was formed from the first believers in the Upper Room found in Acts 1 and 2. Unfortunately, some of those present in the Upper Room grew casual and complacent. Maybe they had 'work to do', or they had 'other things to get to', or grew bored and tired of waiting. They didn't remain in 'awe' of what God was going to do. Jesus had made them a promise that He would send the comforter, Holy Spirit to come and guide them and be with them in His absence. The ones who grew tired of waiting left and didn't receive the promised gift at that time. However, the ones who were in the room received the gift and more that day. They grew in faith and in numbers. Because of their faith, a 'deep sense of awe' came over them all and they performed signs and wonders (as Jesus had promised them previously as well, that they would do even greater things than He). WOW!

Is this what the church today is lacking??

Why are we seeking after the 'signs and the wonders' instead of the one who creates/performs them? Why do we seek the 'healing' instead of the 'Healer'? Why are we seeking after money and finances, instead of the 'Provider'? Why do we seek after created things rather than the Creator who is forever praised? Romans 1:25 says, "They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshipped and served the things God created instead of the Creator Himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen." Too often we get stuck in the world and start to believe what it is saying instead of going to the Truth. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Too often we let the worldview come into play, and they try to leave Jesus out. They say things like 'he is just an ordinary man like Elijah or Moses', or he is 'just a prophet like Mohammed'... but we need to remain in "awe" of the truth, of the One who was, and is and is to come. We need to seek the "I am" alone. He was, is and is to be the ONE that we need. The one and only true God.

Embrace the WONDER again! Make your life AWE-FULL not AWFUL!

Be blessed.

"It Pays To Praise"

DAY # 40 - 'A Woman of Faith' Devotional
Verse: "So through Jesus let us always offer to God our sacrifice of praise, coming from lips that speak His name." Hebrews 13:15 NCV

'Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord! Let all God's people praise the Lord. Shake off those heavy bands, lift up those holy hands. Let all God's people praise the Lord.' Those words from an old chorus still ring true today. We need to praise God every moment every day, whether it's just a simple 'thank you' or whether you can have time to 'dance & worship' to glorify Him.

God desires our praise, we were created to praise Him and give Him glory due His name. We can't just praise God in our minds, because we all know our minds can lead us astray. We need to speak it out, to scare off the devil and his wiles. The devil thinks he can get us down with symptoms, or sickness, bitterness, anger, gossip, discouragement, etc... but if we always have praise on our lips, we can overcome his evil plans for us, and receive the blessings and walk in the plans that God has for us.

We need to not only praise God for what He has done for us, but for who He is. Do you know who He is? He is the I AM! He is whoever you need right now - the First and the Last; the Alpha & Omega; the Beginning & the End; JEHOVAH--YAHWEH, a reference to God's divine salvation; JEHOVAH-MACCADDESHEM, "The Lord thy sanctifier", JEHOVAH-ROHI, "The Lord my shepherd"; JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH, "The Lord who is present" ; JEHOVAH-RAPHA, "The Lord our healer"; JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU, "The Lord our righteousness"; JEHOVAH-JIREH, "The Lord will provide"; JEHOVAH-NISSI, "The Lord our banner" ; JEHOVAH-SHALOM, "The Lord is peace"; JEHOVAH-SABBAOTH, "The Lord of Hosts" ; JEHOVAH-GMOLAH, "The God of Recompense" ; EL-ELYON, "The most high God ; EL-ROI,  "The strong one who sees"; EL-SHADDAI, "The God of the mountains or God Almighty"; EL-OLAM, "The everlasting God". So if you need salvation, sanctifying, a shepherd, someone who is there for you, a healer, righteousness, a provider, a banner, peace, protecting angels, compensated, and MORE... then ask the one who IS all those and MORE!

Praise the Lord for He is the lifter of your heads! "But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head." ~Psalm 3:3

Think your worship and praise isn't powerful... Check out 2 Chronicles 20 - - read the entire chapter! WOW! Jehoshaphat led God's people into worship (see verse 18), and then made a decision that still baffles us all - but not really because we know our God is powerful and can do anything - - He sent the worshippers our in front of this army, and their worship allowed God to smite their enemies. (verses 20-24) Now, God is the same God today as He was then, so who or what is your 'giant' or your 'enemy'? The devil is our enemy, and when we praise and worship in spirit and in truth, GOD can and will do great and mighty things! "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24 NIV)http://www.smilegodlovesyou.org/names.html

BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING!

Feb 16, 2010

What Do you CRAVE??

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."
Matthew 5:6 NIV
CRAVE: –verb (used with object)
1. to long for; want greatly; desire eagerly: to crave sweets; to crave affection.

2. to require; need: a problem craving prompt attention.
3. to ask earnestly for (something); beg for.
4. to ask (a person) earnestly for something or to do something.
–verb (used without object)
5. to beg or plead (usually fol. by for).

Origin:

bef. 1000; ME craven, OE crafian; akin to ON krefja to demand, lay claim to

Synonyms:
1. yearn for, hunger for.

Dictionary.com Unabridged
Based on the Random House Dictionary, © Random House, Inc. 2010

According to the Dictionary definitions above, crave is a verb, which like love, is an action word. To crave something is to strongly desire it. Usually you are filling an empty spot in your life. For example, most people throughout the day crave FOOD, therefore they are desiring to satisfy a hunger. Sometimes, through the day I find myself rather dry, and I crave a DRINK. Desperately enough, I join with the Preschoolers and lick icicles and 'clean' snow, much to the dismay of others. LOL! I wish to satisfy a thirst. However, one of the most important cravings of all is LOVE. People have an empty spot in their lives and hearts, and it can only be filled by love. This LOVE can only come from God! Others may try to fill this void with love, but it is all superficial, unless it is the love of our Lord.

To know God personally, and be in a relationship with Him is awesome, it is the BEST thing that can happen to a person! He can fill all our HUNGER and THIRST cravings... but we have to be just that, HUNGRY and THIRSTY for more. No one should be, or could be satisfied with just a little bit, we need it ALL, and more. We need to overflow with the love of God, that's how we can show His love to others.

Jesus talks of His 'living water' which we can drink, and never be thirsty again, in John 4:13&14. "Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

We need to pray, seek His face, read His word, truly worship Him, and just soak in His presence daily. This isn't just a one-time filling. Most people think they can run on a 'one-time filling'. How many times do you eat or drink in a day? How many times do you do any of the above things I mentioned about thirsting after God? To increase our faith, we need to do just that! We even need to do it more than once a day. Most people just think that's what Sunday's are for. We come together, get re-filled and then we're set for another week. However, we need to get in God's face daily, so we can stay connected Monday through Saturday.

Do you want to run on EMPTY or do you want to be FILLED? Our Scripture today says that we can be FILLED! All we need to do is hunger and thirst after righteousness. Who is the perfecter of our faith, and the only righteous one? GOD! We need to hunger and thirst after Him, and then we will see our FAITH arise.

We need to increase our FAITH... when we pray, we don't just pray to pray, we should be praying to see God answer. Not many of us can actually say they have seen an answer to their prayers, at least not right away. But, we should keep on praying in faith anyways. In the Bible, Jesus tells us to have 'faith like a child'. (Matt 18:1-6, "At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?' He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: 'I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.'")

A child's faith is a sweet and special thing... they are filled with such wonder and awe, and they hardly have any doubts. If you say you are going to do something, then they believe that you will do it. If God says He will do something, they can easily trust Him. Whereas we as adults, have a hard time trusting anymore, because of past hurts, failures, and seemingly unanswered prayers. A child is quick to act on their faith too, which is something we need to do to show that we have faith. We cannot just say we have faith without deeds. It says in the Word, in James 2:14-18 (NIV) "What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, 'Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, 'You have faith; I have deeds.' 'Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.'" We as adults can pray until we are blue in the face (or so the saying goes), and then not act upon our faith. But we need to start acting on it. I need to remind myself too, that faith without works/actions/deeds is dead.

If we are praying for rain, we need to start bringing our umbrellas to the prayer meeting!

I close with a cute little story that I love, being a woman of FAITH. This story can be found in "Stories for the Heart" - Compiled by Alice Gray. (pg 106)

The Red Umbrella
Retold by Tania Gray

As the drought continued for what seemed an eternity, a small community of midwest farmers were in a quandary as to what to do. The rain was important not only in order to keep the crops healthy, but to sustain the townspeople's very way of living. As the problem became more urgent, the local church felt it was time to get involved and planned a prayer meeting in order to ask for rain.

In what seemed a vague remembrance of an old Native American ritual, the people began to show. The pastor soon arrived and watched as his congregation continued to file in. He slowly circulated from group to group as he made his way to the front in order to officially begin the meeting. Everyone he encountered was visiting across the aisles, enjoying the chance to socialize with their close friends. As the pastor finally secured his place in front of his flock, his thoughts were on the importance of quieting the crowd and starting the meeting.

Just as he began asking for quiet, he noticed an eleven-year old girl sitting in the front row. She was angelically beaming with excitement and laying next to her was her bright red umbrella, poised for use. The beauty and innocence of this sight made the pastor smile to himself as he realized the faith this young girl possessed that the rest of the people in the room seemed to have forgotten.
For the rest had come just to pray for rain... she had come to see God answer.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I just thank you once again for you being you. Your love surpasses all, and you are the Creator of all of us each individually. You made us all unique individuals, yet all with an empty hole in our hearts that can only be filled by You. Help us to hunger and thirst after you, never being satisfied with a once-a-week dose of Your love. Lord I pray that you will help us increase our faith, let us not be happy with faith the size of a mustard seed, but fill us once again with the wonder and awe that we once had. Let us never lose sight of the prize at the end of the 'race of life'. Eternal life with You and Your Son. Give us that child-like faith, and the innocence to believe in You and the things that You said You will do, and the things that You have yet to do, in and through us. Help us act in faith as well. Remind us when we pray, that we should be acting upon our faith in such a way that others will see and take note, and it will help them increase their faith as well, and live out their faith as well. Guide us, direct us and lead us into ways of Your knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Help us remember that Your ways are higher than our ways, and we need not know all that You know. Help us remember that we are not Your advisors, yet You are ours! We ask all these things in the name of Jesus, AMEN!

Day 22: October 22nd, 2009 - - Proverbs 29:6

“POINTS TO PONDER” – Day 22
Written by M. Hall
Please feel free to agree or disagree with points made, and feel free to comment if so desired. If you would like, you could write your own thoughts on the verse of the day, and include that in your own comments below. Thank you and may you be blessed!! =)

Evil people are trapped by their own sin, but good people can sing and be happy. Proverbs 29:6 NCV

Did you know that your sin can trap you? But, there is a way out -- only God can set you free. I am glad to be considered a good person, for I can sing and be happy all day long. We just spoke in our last devotional about praising in all circumstances, and especially in challenges. WOW! What a day I had today… challenges galore with the precious little preschoolers. I needed to keep my cool, remain calm and peaceful and also joyful. That was a struggle and a half, having screaming, jumping, running, spitting Preschoolers inside on a rainy day. But as I said, I appreciate challenges. I was thinking to how my day would be without those challenging children, and I would really miss them. Deep down they are very precious and sweet children, who just have a rough time every now and then. Some of them have to get up really early and be dropped off at daycare early, and they are there all day long, and that in itself can be trying on a little body. So I always empathize with them, which poses to be a problem sometimes, and ignoring the behaviour doesn’t always work. But we managed to get through the day, as challenges help me increase faith, which helps me increase perseverance and patience! YAY GOD! A few of the mom’s even commented how I could remain so patient. It’s all God! =) Praise Jesus! But getting back to the Scripture above, I am a good person, and therefore I can sing and be happy in crazy circumstances.

Paul and Silas were put into prison, and while they were chained they sang praises to God. God sent an angel to unlock the cell doors, but not one of the men escaped. The guard came back very worried that he would be killed if the men escaped, and Paul reassured him that they all were there. Then Paul and Silas went to the guard’s home, and all his family was saved. WOW! The power of our praise, it can change the atmosphere! It has been said on many occasions that worship changes the atmosphere and attitude of those around. We should be able to notice other Christians just by their attitude and when they walk into a room the atmosphere changes. It should be the same with us and our Christian walk.

Getting back to the dreaded first part of the verse, ‘Evil people are trapped by their own sin’, I am reminded of a drama that our youth group drama team performed years ago called ‘The Chair’. The silent drama starts with an empty chair on the stage, and there is a sign on the chair that says ‘Do Not Touch!’ Several people walk by the chair and notice it, and then walk back one at a time to the chair. The first guy touches the chair, and smacks it with his hands, not getting stuck, then he chuckles and does it again, and he gets stuck. He starts to walk away, but the chair comes with him. Someone else comes by, and the guy is struggling to get his hand off the chair. They offer him assistance, and get stuck to the chair as well. A cute girl walks by and the two look masculine and manly pretending there is nothing wrong, but continue still to try and get free from the chair. The girl offers to help, but they don’t want any help. The girl walks on. Another person comes by and sees them struggling, offers help, sees the sign, touches the chair and gets stuck to the chair. Yet another person comes along, sees the chair, and the sign, and the others smiling and such, and then walks over to touch the chair, and the others silently act out ‘No don’t sit down’ by shaking their heads and they try to get them not to touch the chair. They end up sitting on the chair. The drama stage now has a bunch of people pretending to be stuck to the chair. A person with a Bible comes along and sees the chair of people. They are struggling, and so they look in their Bible, and show the people a verse, and act out leading them in prayer. The people on the chair pray one by one, some of the last ones still doubting. They roll their eyes; shake their heads, etc… while one by one the ones who pray are released from the chair. Finally, the last person (who was the first person) gets unstuck, and they all do a happy dance, and the ‘Christian’ kicks the chair over, and stuck on the bottom of the chair is the word ‘SIN’. Then the Christian reads the scripture found in James 1:14-15, “but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.” It’s really powerful! It was one of my favourite ones to dramatize. I usually played the ‘Christian girl’. We cannot let ourselves get dragged away and enticed. For as we see it all leads to death and I choose life. As we have said before, and I’m sure you have heard many times, it all comes down to our choice. God gave us the power to choose. We have our own free will, and its that selfish fleshly mind-set that takes over and allows us to become enticed, and allows sin to conceive, which gives birth to death. Which is redundant in itself, but makes a lot of sense. Choose life with me today! Freedom = Life!

We can truly sing, ‘I Am Free’…

I <3 the NEWSBOYS!
Prayer: Lord, we thank You once again for all You do for us. Forgive us once again for the sins we have committed in thought, word and deed, intentionally and unintentionally, so that we may boldly enter Your throne-room. Thank You for giving us a way out from our sin, so that we are no longer trapped by it. Thank You for the freedom we can have through Your Spirit. Thank you for creating us to be good people. We praise You and we honour You, we sing and worship You for who You are, and what You’ve done. We will try to strive for complete joy in every circumstance, knowing that You walk beside us, and even carry us along the way. Thank You Lord that when we do look back and see one set of footprints, that you don’t let our hearts get discouraged, but that You encourage us, by reminding us that You carry us through those times of trouble. I ask for wisdom and discernment, to assist us when temptation comes our way. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, in the name of JESUS, AMEN!

Be blessed and keep the smile on your face, the twinkle in your eye, and the love of Jesus in your hearts! <3 Shine and worship our Father in the darkness around you! Declare your FREEDOM in CHRIST!

“How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.” -
2 Samuel 7:22WOW! These words are so true. There is no God like our God, and there is no God but our God. One of the main differences between God, and gods (other than the capital G) is that our God is alive! His Word is alive and His Son is alive. What an amazing truth! How great is our God ~ He is worthy to be praised!
Here are two songs by Chris Tomlin, about the greatness of our God, and the fact that there is no one like our God. Think on that truth, and let it sink into your mind, heart and spirit! Let Him be the God of your life, and pray for Him to be the God of your city...
HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD - CHRIS TOMLIN

GOD OF THIS CITY - CHRIS TOMLIN

May the Lord bless you as you listen to these beautiful worship songs... Remember worship changes the atmosphere. If there are things that need to be broken in your life, things that need to change in your city... crank up the volume and let the presence of God surround you. Shine the light to the darkness! Remember THERE IS NO ONE LIKE OUR GOD!!
